Intelligent intersections have the potential to serve as an integral part of tomorrow’s traffic infrastructure. Wireless communication is key enabling such technology. We consider a scenario where two flows vehicles traverse intelligent intersection. investigate safety in emergency braking scenarios, one flow suddenly decides brake and messages are broadcast affected vehicles. provide framework for computing lower bounds on probabilities safe – collisions between be avoided. If we require that crash or collision, example, occurs at most once million our approach allows computation time-varying (or distance-varying) packet loss ensure this. One benefits proposed computational time reduced; eliminating, need time-consuming Monte Carlo simulations.
